Anaerobics

By definition, anaerobic adhesives remain liquid until isolated from oxygen in the presence of metal ions, such as iron or copper. For
example, when an anaerobic adhesive is sealed between a nut and a bolt on a threaded assembly, it rapidly "cures" or hardens to form a
tough cross-linked plastic that will bond quite well to many metals.

Anaerobic applications differ widely; applications requiring high shear strengths and resistance to temperatures as high as 230°C (445°F)
will find ready solutions from Permabond. For sealing, bonding and locking solutions there are wicking and gap fill grades, available for
both manual and automatic dispensing methods. A range of room temperature fixture times offers maximum flexibility in product
assembly.

Permabond's capabilities in formulating
application-specific adhesives led to the
development of bonding products for
retaining applications once reserved for
mechanical joining methods such as
keyways, interference fits, or shrink fits.

Permabond's threadlocking sealants are a cost
effective and superior alternative to lock
washers, locking threads, and studs. Permabond
has a complete line of anaerobic threadlockers.
They prevent loosening due to vibration or
thermal expansion on all metal threaded
fasteners and provide corrosion resistant seals.

Permabond pipesealing products are
found in various industries including fire
protection, HVAC, and plumbing. These
PTFE based formulations allow easy
assembly and provide an instant seal of
1000psi and final cure strength generally
exceeds that of most pipe material.

Permabond's gasketing products include high
viscosity sealants designed for specific
performance requirements of gasketing
applications. Permabond gasketing sealants
improve load transfer and stress distribution
across flanges. They eliminate stocking various
sizes of pre-cut gaskets.
