Download Brochure Further reading Permabond supplies adhesives to automotive parts manufacturers worldwide, tailoring adhesives to meet customer production line and application requirements. Anaerobic adhesives are used for locking, retaining and sealing applications as well as gasketing – e.g. sealing gearboxes and retaining bearings. Adhesives have to withstand hot oil, glycol, and a wide temperature range. Automotive interior trim is often bonded with adhesive, often requiring low odour / no residual odour adhesives and also requirements to bond “hard to bond” plastics such as certain polyolefin blends. Auto exterior applications include bonding composite materials, polypropylene and other materials. Adhesives must be high strength, vibration resistant and capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions.
