  • Permabond - Fully committed to uninterrupted supply during the Coronavirus pandemic

Following the announcement by the Italian government that all but essential businesses had to cease their operations, we are very proud to announce that Permabond's production facilities in Milan, are allowed to remain fully operational under the "life-sustaining business" exception. This is due in part, to the importance of our adhesives for medical devices and ventilators at this time, but also due to the many other essential industries that rely on the continuation of supply of our adhesives for their production and operations, such as automotive/agricultural vehicle repairs, transport/rail, plumbing, pumps & valves, filters, oil & gas, fire protection, communications, civil engineering, to name just a few. Our operations in the USA, China and the UK also remain open. Paolo Grossi, General Manager says, “we are fully committed to maintaining the supply of our engineering adhesives to all our customers, some of whom are experiencing unprecedented demand for their products. We are constantly evaluating our supply chain and have acted quickly to increase stocks of raw materials to ensure we can continue to meet all our customers’ adhesive needs. With unprecedented high demand for ventilators and medical devices we have also taken swift action to increase production of the medical device adhesives that are critical in those applications. As a company we feel a very strong duty to help in any way we can throughout this crisis, and we are very proud that we are able to do so.” We are doing all of this with the health & safety of our employees as our highest priority. Steps we have taken to protect our staff, their families and communities include, but are not limited to: Sanitization and more frequent and thorough cleaning routines at all our sites Restricted site access. Limited to when absolutely necessary and to those wearing gloves and masks only Suspension of all business trips and face to face customer visits Increased use of video conferencing for internal and external meetings Remote working for all staff, whose roles enable them to do so Production staff issued with PPE (gloves and masks) Social distancing rules in our workplaces to reduce exposure Mandatory isolation for anyone showing even the mildest of symptoms We would like to thank all our employees who have been working tirelessly to overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic, in order to fulfil their duties to our customers, and we would also like to thank our suppliers for the work they are continuing to do, to ensure a reliable supply chain.

  • New TA4207 Multi-Purpose, High Strength Adhesive - No Surface Prep Required!

  • New Thermally Conductive Adhesive from Permabond

Introducing Permabond ET5441, a new thermally conductive, high temperature resistant, 2 part, room temperature cure epoxy with excellent chemical resistance. ET5441 expands Permabond’s existing thermally conductive adhesives range, which includes UL94-V-0 compliant single part epoxies, toughened acrylics and a flexible modified epoxy adhesive. ET5441 has been specifically designed to bond metal substrates, when an excellent resistance to high temperature is required, and even retains 6 MPa shear strength at 180°C on steel. It is also suitable for bonding other materials such as ABS, GRP and composite materials. Full cure is achieved in 7 days at room temperature, but it can be accelerated to 24 hours at room temperature followed by 30 minutes at +80°C. Permabond ET5441 provides an excellent resistance to hot and cold water, motor oil and glycol. Its high temperature resistance and thermal conductivity make ET5441 ideal for applications such as: Electric motor magnet bonding Bonding heat sinks to PCBs Applications in vehicle battery packs Bonding parts before e-coating Click here for ET5441 TDS

  • Permabond Structural Epoxies for Bonding Stainless Steel

Are you welding stainless steel and looking to speed up production or reduce workplace hazards? Is welding stainless steel leaving your finished product with unsightly tarnishing? Permabond has the answer! Permabond's stainless steel bonding epoxy adhesives cure fully at room temperature and offer fantastic performance when bonding stainless steel to itself and a wide variety of other materials, and offer many advantages compared to welding: Better stress distribution through the joint (welding concentrates stress into a small area) Improved, tarnish-free finished appearance 100% seal against moisture No need for a skilled welder, offering cost savings as a result No hazardous gas cylinders and fire safety hazards associated with welding, also offering cost savings and health and safety benefits Ideal for use in ATEX explosion-proof areas where welding is not allowed The ET539X range of adhesives also offer excellent resistance to harsh environments and are highly resistant to water, temperature extremes and chemicals. • Permabond 2K Primer - for maximum adhesive performance and long term durability

Permabond 2K Primer is a multi-purpose primer which helps to prepare substrates for bonding with adhesives, indicates if the surface is wetting out properly or if additional surface preparation is needed and it contains an adhesive promoter to increase bond strength. It is ideal for preparing metal, glass, plastic, and composites for bonding. When bonding metal, note that Permabond 2K Primer offers the added benefit of protecting against corrosion which increases long term durability and bond strength. Click here to download our product flyer 2K Primer Flyer download To prepare surfaces for bonding: Degrease and lightly abrade bond areas. Degrease again to remove dust. Combine contents of both bottles (A&B) into the spray bottle. Attach the sprayer and shake well. Spray the bond area with a thin layer of primer. Compare the wetting – if the primer beads up as shown on the right, more surface preparation is needed. On the left, the primer wets out the surface leaving a uniform coating indicating that the surface is ready bonding. The surface to the right shows the 2K primer beading up, which indicates that further surface preparation is required. If wetting is good, remove excess with a clean, dry cloth or tissue. Allow to dry before bonding. Use mixed primer within 8 hours
